The Department of Taiwanese Languages and Literature, NTCU is the only place to cultivate Taiwanese teachers for the elementary school and the junior/senior high school in Taiwan.
Our features are:
1. Curriculum Domain: Taiwanese language education and native language education are the main learning contents; besides, history and geography, culture, folklore and drama courses are offered to students to learn.
2. Language Domain: Taiwanese is the primary language students should be mastered in, and they are required to have the basic knowledge of Hakka. Also, students are required to be fluent in English and Japanese.
3. Combination of Theory and Practice: Pragmatism is the chief teaching principle. All theory courses are well combined with practice.
